Runway independent operation with VTOL-like performance. Takeoff by hand-launch does not require any significant space or surface preparation. The vehicle is capable of excellent climb rate and once launched, climbs out at a very steep 3:1 slope to clear local terrain. Recovery is a steep belly landing with 2:1 landing approach slope.
Positive control is maintained at all times for accurate landings in high wind. The vehicle is specifically designed for landings into small austere clearings. Areas with shallow inclines that are free of large rocks and boulders will minimize the risk of damage during landing.
A typical landing zone would be approximately 15 x 50m (50 x 165ft)
EXTENDED RANGE ON A SINGLE CHARGE
All-electric systems are cleaner, safer and more reliable than gasoline powered hybrid systems. Battery powered systems have greater payload capacities and can deliver them at lower cost than comparable VTOL hybrids.
Charging batteries with the use of solar panels ensures that operations in rural or remote areas are possible as well as negating the need for any reliance on fossil fuels.
ALL WEATHER, DAY & NIGHT OPERATION
The system excels during operation in foul weather and can be flown in both day and night.
The weatherized air frame and waterproof air-data system allows the vehicle to be flown in moderate to heavy rain, combined with the ability to fly in high winds of up to 50km / h results in all-weather capability and mission readiness that is unmatched in the civilian market.
The system holds an Ingress Protection rating of 65 (IP-65) as defined in international standard IEC 60529
Flight critical electrical interconnects are made using highly reliable military-spec waterproof connectors.
Connectors are manufactured and inspected to manned aircraft standards and are of a break-away design to ensure they disconnect without damage in the event of an accident.
Fuel cells are housed in a tough Kevlar enclosure for maximum safety
FIELD SUPPORT KIT
If and when accidents do occur, components can be readily repaired in the field using materials supplied in the included Field Support Kit (FSK) or parts can be swapped between air frames to ensure a high degree of mission readiness
